  • I am writing to nominate Edwin Chow. Edwin is a Huntington University student and a wonderful Christian. He is preparing to go to Thailand over the J-Term and I think he would be a wonderful recipient of the scholarship. I unfortunately do not have a photo of him. He will be traveling with a group of HU students and has been integrally involved in all of the efforts of preparation for the trip. He has been however struggling getting responses to his fund raising.

Thanks for considering Edwin for one of the scholarships.

I nominate Hope Grafted In whose mission is to speak up for orphans in Kenya and Uganda. They are changing the world through loving kids!

    • Thanks Tammy! How sweet of you!

  • I nominate the FACE Foundation (French African Christian Education). Respected people in the religious world have described it as the most fruitful mission work they have ever encountered. By training native preachers, barriers that hinder foreign missionaries are removed, and more people are converted. Graduates of the Bible Training Center (BTC) in the country of Benin are going forth and claiming French West Africa for Christ, but there remains an enormous amount of untapped potential that could be unleashed via more funding. That’s why FACE is, in my opinion, the ideal beneficiary of this giveaway! #gratweek15

Encouragement Expeditions. It’s a new ministry founded with the purpose to physically come alongside missionaries in the field to encourage them by serving them specifically. Encouragement will be given through offering relief childcare, home projects, prayer, etc. The team is there not to help with any outside ministry projects. Really just to serve the missionaries with the goal of leaving them more encouraged and refreshed physically and spiritually.

  • I would like to see Teen Challenge of the Upper Cumberland in Livingston, TN, given a little extra support. They helped me through my darkest of days and I am so grateful for the work they are doing. They give hope to the hopeless to those struggling with life controlling problems, such as drug and alcohol addiction. They pour out the love of God on the lives of others, now it is their time to get poured back into. #gratweek15

I nominate Global Passion Ministries. Global Passion is a phenomenal organization that mobilizes and equips young people to the mission field. Literally hundreds of thousands have been impacted with the Gospel through Global Passion and there are many missionaries on the field today who received their call to full time missions while on a short-term Global Passion experience. Global Passion comes alongside missionaries and local churches to help fulfill the vision that God has given them for their people.

I am so thankful for Global Passion Ministries. The trip I took with them to Zimbabwe, Africa changed my life and stirred in me a passion for missions and ministry I had never experienced before. The heartbeat of their ministry is to partner with missionaries who most need help, sending people around the world to places no one else is going. It’s amazing that every year more and more stories come back of awesome thing God is doing through their ministry.

I nominate Global Passion Ministries, too. Partnering with missionaries all around the world and equipping students and young people to serve is changing the world for the Gospel. I felt the call to full time ministry on a Global Passion mission trip. They exist to better equip missionaries to fulfill the goals and dreams that God has placed in their lives, while at the same time facilitating life change and servanthood in the lives of the teams that they send.

I would like to nominate Hope Grafted In. I have been traveling with them for the last three years and love the work they do in partnering with ministries in Kenya and Uganda. I love watching how God is using them to bring hope to the fatherless! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!!!

I am writing to nominate Hope Grafted In. I took the very first missions trip they planned to Uganda, in 2013, and was able to see up close and personal the work that they do blessing orphanages and ministries there. Hope Grafted In doesn’t go to a ministry and “take over”…they come alongside…and lift the arms of the directors of Sangaalo Babies, in Jinja and Ebenezer Children’s Ministry in Kibuku…”serving them”, and working with them to assist them in fulfilling the vision that the Lord has given each one!
Is has been a blessing to sponsor children at Ebenezer, through Hope Grafted In, and watch as Ebenezer has grown and prospered. I KNOW that God blesses $$ given to Hope Grafted In and the gifts are multiplied!!

  • I have been part of the Kenya project since it’s inception and I have seen lives changed a community transformed.

The Vision of The Kenya Project and its Kenyan Operating partner, Utunzi is to provide opportunities for children of Kenya to know and experience the love of God through support to meet their health, educational and Spiritual needs.

The mission of The Kenya Project is to provide opportunities for Christians to be in ministry to children of Kenya by providing resources and facilities for their health, education, and spiritual development through:

Student sponsorships for private and public education
    Health and welfare grants
Opportunites for Christian mission work in Kenya
Providing homes for orphans in Kenya

  • Hope Grafted In speaks up for those who cannot speak for themselves. The work of this ministry reaches far beyond the children they advocate for through sponsorship. This non-profit provides support to the indigenous missionaries who are working tirelessly in Kenya and Uganda for the families and children in their communities. HGI also provides micro loans to parents of single parent households in both of those countries, supports families and students in accessing education through a student sponsorship program, and helps meet immediate needs of the ministries they partner with in Africa. HGI even supports adoptive families through their adoption grants. They are unique because of the emphasis and value placed on relationship. They spread the word of the Gospel through going, loving, supporting and praying for the individuals they serve and serve with. #gratweek15

  • Jessica Colbetzor

I am choosing to nominate Harley Weidlich. About four years ago Harley traveled with a group of people to Nicaragua to help build a church. Since that point he has made it a mission to take his own group. In 2016 a group of 15-20 people including myself will be traveling back to Nicaragua to help finish the church, provide an upwards sports group with equipment, and provide vacation bible schools. He has to raise the money for the budget which includes all those things. He has been striving very hard to make all this happen and if I have to nominate a man of God who serves his brothers and sisters it would be Harley.
